A Share

The obsession of clicking buttons on our phone and computer screens has reached all time high, which is as infectious as the invisible virus , swallowing peoples' peace and privacy. A share, showcases the personality of those clicking it to reach out further. Though the intention may not always be to stir others' precious moments, a sweet cocktail of emotions too exits at the time internet users indulge in the game of click to share. A flood of advice flowing from internet friendly doctors seem to have cured half the world of arthritis, diabetes, obesity and not to miss the pain in the neck. Education in the modern era has adjusted well with the click to share model. Textbooks reading has more than vanished to be conveniently over shadowed by shrunken pointers and one liners. Sharing humour or gripping tales works as medicine for some yet irreparable loss of precious time for others. A wish to share good morning, good night, happy Sunday or Monday, blooms in

A Tribute to a people's person

A Tribute by Abhilasha Mathur For most of us she was Pravesh Mam. Dr. Mrs. Pravesh Saxena was a motherly figure to me. She came with a mission to make a mark with her enormous enthusiasm. Gifted with the art of adding flavor and juice to every event and celebration. Friends and family always cherished her art of appreciation. She could beautifully showcase her affection for children, the youth and the old through her writings. As a prolific writer, she authored more than 40 books in Hindi, English and Sanskrit. I remember her determination to translate Bengali books into Engish. She had a constant spark and eagerness to learn and catch up perfectly with the fast pace of technology. Saxena aunty was a poetess from the core of her heart. The rhyme and rhythm of emotion always overflowed in her poetry. A talented and confident public speaker who possessed varied skills of keeping her audience glued. Her persona of an enlightened Professor attracted so many

Flavours of Television

During one of our WhatsApp chats in the family group , we were discussing the times when television was a rare, unaffordable machine.  We shared our common, sweet and sour memories of slipping into a neighbours' drawing room to watch the most entertaining Chitrahaar. The simple mindsets coupled with compassionate gestures among neighbors could make watching the 'Sunday Movie ' and 'Chitrahaar ' a relaxing affair once or twice a week. Those were the times when recreation was mostly a community affair. From 'Group Leisure Time' to 'Self-centered Fun-time ', the shift in entertainment quotient had been gradual, yet steep. After a couple of decades of the twenty first century ,watching television has   turned into the most private affair for a solitary viewer. The Television has undergone transformation from a bulky machine, to a sleek wallpeice ,to a digital App. A present day television viewer can pick and choose from a cafeter

मेरा Hero

A TRIBUTE TO A SMART GRANNY

You raised a whole generation with love, care and compassion. The gestures, thoughts and traits you showered are manifested in our being. We cherish the moments spent together. Unforgettable are those playful teasings, cooking, eating and laughter together. Still trying to gather the will power you managed. Pain or sickness, you took it all in a power-packed stride. My buddies and me often recall your spicy yet sweet meals. Those were the special tiny bytes engraved in the wires of my complex mind. Like no other granny, you were the bold and the beautiful, that made us all proud. Penning down my utter rememberance for you granny, my Bari Mummy.

Locked at home

Confined within the limits of a civilized abode, the most intelligent living creature on the blue planet has got to taste the most bitter fruit of the living world.A deadly virus has demonstrated its enigmatic spread. The havoc created has pinched the rich and the poor alike. All humanity has shared a single page in the history of mankind.         Each passing day of the home stay has captured a cafetaria of experiences. The passimists got busy counting days and deaths, yet the optimists counted their blessings. With the world being folded in the sleeves of technology, the global alert to stay safe sparked a bombardment of activities. The mashed up minds got super chance to loosen. The cascade of thoughts got shape. Nature tought and the mankind learnt of its physical limitations.         The worriors of the "universal still" successfully ignited the human conciousness. They pledged to bear a soothing torch of love and create a fresh spring of care and compassion  a
