Flavours of Television

 During one of our WhatsApp chats in the family group , we were discussing the times when television was a rare, unaffordable machine.  We shared our common, sweet and sour memories of slipping into a neighbours' drawing room to watch the most entertaining Chitrahaar. The simple mindsets coupled with compassionate gestures among neighbors could make watching the 'Sunday Movie ' and 'Chitrahaar ' a relaxing affair once or twice a week. Those were the times when recreation was mostly a community affair. From 'Group Leisure Time' to 'Self-centered Fun-time ', the shift in entertainment quotient had been gradual, yet steep. After a couple of decades of the twenty first century ,watching television has   turned into the most private affair for a solitary viewer.
