A TRIBUTE TO A SMART GRANNY

You raised a whole generation with love, care and compassion.
The gestures, thoughts and traits you showered are manifested in our being.
We cherish the moments spent together.
Unforgettable are those playful teasings, cooking, eating and laughter together.
Still trying to gather the will power you managed.
Pain or sickness, you took it all in a power-packed stride.
My buddies and me often recall your spicy yet sweet meals.
Those were the special tiny bytes engraved in the wires of my complex mind.
Like no other granny, you were the bold and the beautiful, that made us all proud.
Penning down my utter rememberance for you granny, my Bari Mummy.

  3. Heartfelt, and beautifully put, Abhilasha Ji. "Special tiny bits engraved in the wires of my complex mind.." what a line. You know what this poetry once again made me realise? That it is only when we grow up can we realise the challenges our elders faced and how they were still there for us. And then we end up respecting them even more.

  10. Such a Sight to see,,,
    My Grandmother smiling to me,
Her Pearly whites make my Day Bright,,,
My Heart know my Grandmother Love for me,,,
Even more Deeper than the Roots of A Banyan Tree,,,,...

An exceptionally Beautiful write up... Flooded me... Bought out the Poet In me...
Of course,, the bonds between parents and children are Lovely nd full of sweetness... But the Relationship between a person with their parents Parent.,, Grandparent,, specifically The Grandmother is something indescribable nd so pure that it has been universally observed that usually grandparents have more affection for grandkids than their own kids,, Reading this numbed me and stirred me nd bought back my memories with my most beautiful, sweetest nd strongest Dadi,, my Amma who left me to go to Heaven in May 2019.... The void and emptying of one's soul ND heart is so true,, Again it has been universally understood and accepted that people remember, rationalise, reminisce their summer or winter childhood memories with grandparents more than their own parents,, even a person becomes a grandparent they remember their own grandma ,,,,,, The purity, divinity in that love is as thick as Deciduous forests on Earth ND As Lovely as the Citrusy fragrant pinewood trees,,, ...
Sandalwood tree ,,chandans fragrance reminds me of my Dadi,,, it's Her ...
The food the bedtime stories the hugs the love the arguments the adoring from a grandma to her grandchildren,, The everything A Human Heart can see and ever desire in their lifetimes,,,
    It's aptly said,,
The stars up there are the glimmering and glittering Souls of Our Grandparents...

    O My Grandma,,Where r theee...
    ur touch...
Even more Precious than the Most Beautiful Redwood Tree....
